According to fujirumors.com, Fujifilm will release the fixed-lens GFX Medium Format Camera in 2025.
The huge success of Fujifilm's x100 series may have strengthened Fujifilm's confidence in fixed-lens mirrorless cameras. In the medium format camera market, the prices of both Hasselblad and Phase One medium format cameras far exceed the upper limit of the consumer market's affordability.
Although Fujifilm is not known for its value for money, among medium format mirrorless cameras, the Fujifilm GFX series is the cheapest medium format mirrorless you can buy.
Now we have many "entry-level" full-frame mirrorless cameras, but medium-format mirrorless cameras are rarely considered entry-level products, both the body and the lens are very expensive. If Fujifilm launches the Fixed Lens GFX Medium Format Camera, I believe it will be the first time for many people to try a medium-format mirrorless camera.
During the film photography era, Fujifilm had fixed-lens medium format cameras, both zoom and prime, which were very well-known in the analog photography community. The most famous one is Fuji GA645 and its various variants: GA645(v.2);GA645W;GA645i;GA645Zi; GA645Wi. Although medium format cameras of the same period were often huge, Fujifilm was able to make medium format cameras very compact at the time, so I was looking forward to Fujifilm's design on the GFX.
